The Aron Quartett has been founded in 1998 by Ludwig Müller, Barna Kobori, Georg Hamann and Christophe Pantillon, four musicians from Vienna. Their artistic development has been decisively shaped by the members of the Alban Berg Quartett as well as by Ernst Kovacic and Heinrich Schiff.

Further major impulses for their musical career came from Isaac Stern, Max Rostal, William Primrose, Mischa Maisky, Ralph Kirshbaum and Sandor Végh. In the founding year, the Vienna debut was taking place, which received a very positive response from audience and press. Since then, a broad repertoire has been worked out – also in cooperation with Heinz Holliger, Heinrich Schiff, as well as members of the Amadeus Quartett, LaSalle Quartett and Alban Berg Quartett.

The Aron Quartett also performs with other artists such as Bruno Canino, Oleg Maisenberg, Philippe Entremont, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Alexei Lubimov, Wenzel Fuchs, Daniel Ottensamer, Sharon Kam, Anna Caterina Antoniacci, Ildikó Raimondi, Soile Isokoski, Adrian Eröd and members of the Alban Berg Quartett.

The Aron Quartett’s extensive concert touring has taken it across Europe, the United States, Mexico and Japan, as well as to recognized festivals including Wiener Festwochen, International String Quartet Festival Prague, La Biennale di Venezia, Internationales Schönberg Festival, KlangBogen Wien, Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival, Berlin Enescu Days, Carinthian summer.

CD recordings include string quartets by Franz Schubert (Rosamunde and Death and the Maiden) and a CD-box with the complete recording of the works for string quartet by Arnold Schönberg, for which the Aron Quartett received the Pasticcio Prize. The recording is considered by the international press as one of the finest chamber music recordings of the 20th century.
