Stefan Malzew

The conductor, pianist and composer Stefan Malzew is Principal Conductor of the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie and Opera Director of the Landestheater Neustrelitz. He also heads Artist Management at the Neubrandenburg Konzertkirche for classical music.
Previous positions held by Stefan Malzew include Kapellmeister at the Mecklenburgischen Staatstheater Schwerin and Principal Conductor of the Stadttheater Gießen. He has appeared as a pianist with orchestras including the Hamburger Symphoniker, die Berliner Symphoniker and Württemberg Philharmonic Reutlingen.
In 2006 he received the Prize from the German Savings Banks Foundation as part of Germany’s nationwide project “Kinder zum Olymp†for the best collaboration between orchestras and young musicians (following the project “Rhythm is it†of the Berlin Philharmonic and Sir Simon Rattle).
