Christopher Beuchert, Double Bass

Christopher Beuchert was born in Leonberg in 1986. He received his first double bass lessons from Albert Locher, double bassist in the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, following which he became the pupil of Burkhard Mager, Principal Double Bass in the Staatsorchester Stuttgart. Already as a young student he was a member of Christoph Schmidt’s double bass class at the Mannheim and Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts and completed his studies with distinction. As a principal double bassist, he was a member of the Landesjugendorchester Baden-Württemberg as well as of the Bundesjugendorchester Deutschland. While still studying he gained diverse professional experience in orchestras as a student apprentice in the Staatsoper Stuttgart and as a member of the Orchestra Academy of the Symphonieorchster des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Further projects led him to play in such renowned orchestras as the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the WDR Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. Shortly after his first engagement with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, he became a member of the MDR Symphony Orchestra, where he is the Principal Double Bass.
