Andreas Nachtsheim, Lutes

Andreas Nachtsheim has his musical roots in rock music; yet even in his youth—initially on a self-made lute—he pursued his fondness for renaissance and baroque music. Eventually, he decided to devote himself entirely to this part of music history and studied lute and continuo as well as musicology. He has toured with the violinist Nigel Kennedy and played with exceptional musicians such as Philippe Jaroussky and Giuliano Carmignola.

A particularly intense and now longstanding relationship has developed with the Lautten Compagney Berlin and its director Wolfgang Katschner. In addition, he particularly enjoys playing continuo in baroque opera productions at various theaters from Hanover to Basel and Aachen to Berlin.
