GENUIN CDs Once Again Nominated for the German Record Critics' Award

6.7.2015: Two GENUIN CDs have successfully made it onto the ‘Longlist 3/2015’ as pre-selections for the most renowned German music prize. In the category ‘Choral Works’, the male vocal ensemble Camerata Musica Limburg received a nomination with "Sehnsucht", the first CD featuring the complete choral works for male voices by Schubert.

In the category ‘Contemporary Music’, the Swiss composer Balz Trümpy made it onto the nomination list for
the world premiere recording of his chamber music works. With these two CDs, GENIUN has already received this year the fifth of the coveted nominations.

The quarterly ‘Longlist’ of the German Record Critics' Award (PdSK) is considered as a pre-selection for the leader board and includes the best and most interesting new releases of the past three months in different categories. Evaluation criteria include artistic quality, repertory value, presentation and sound quality. For this quarter, a total of 284 titles were nominated by 160 judges in 32 categories.

The jury of the prize is made up of independent music journalists from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and is as heterogeneous as the range of musical genres and spoken productions. Per jury, five experts determine and evaluate the best new productions on the market for recorded music. You can view the Longlist here. The Quarterly Critic’s Choice 3/2015 will be made public on 14 August.
